Date Night

I've had two date nights in a row and another planned for tonight....with three different handsome guys! Lately I've realized that I need to spend more individual time with each of my boys, so I've been letting each one stay up late occasionally.

On Monday night Calvin was my date. He wanted to go to the fitness center with me. I adjusted a few of the machines the smallest they would go. He thought it was the coolest thing ever. After that we came home and drank chocolate milk, ate ice cream, and played Clue. It's was amazing to see his behavior change with just a little one on one time. I think he craves it and needs it even though he would never admit it.

On Tuesday night Braxton and I went grocery shopping together and watched a movie. He thought it was pretty neat being at the grocery store late and choosing all manner of junk food. We came home and watched Back to the Future. It's fun having a kid who can follow the story line of a movie, and who gets some of the inside jokes. We had a blast!

Tonight it's Andy's turn. I don't know what we'll do yet, but I'm sure it will be making something or building something.

On another note, Chris is almost finished with this dang paper he has been working on for a long time. We are nearing the end, but he still has several other projects to finish up before he is completely done.

Oh, and 16 more days until my half IronMan! I'm trying not to freak out. I know I just need to trust my training, but I'm really scared!

We're having a blast during spring break. The kids have this whole week off. Today we are going hiking, and this weekend we are getting visitors! We're so excited!

What a great idea. Just goes to show that it doesn't take a lot of $$$ to come up with great things to do with our kids. Thank you for the reminder of how important each individual child is! I think I may copy this idea. Especially the ice-cream part :) And, way to go with the 1/2 ironman...what a woman!!! I'm just hoping to make it through Moab this weekend...and, I even cut it to the 5 mile this time! You are amazing...keep up the great work!!!!
